In a recent protest that took place in Tinkune, Kathmandu on the 15th of Chaitra, 129 individuals sought medical treatment after being injured. Out of these, all but five have been discharged and have returned home after receiving necessary medical care.
The Ministry of Health and Population has reported that among the injured, 59 received basic medical treatment, 57 underwent minor surgeries, and 13 required emergency surgeries. Two individuals in critical condition are being treated at the National Trauma Center, while one each is being treated at the Civil Hospital, Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital, and B & B Hospital. The remaining individuals have been discharged and advised to rest at home.
Home Minister Ramesh Khatri, along with Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, visited the injured to inquire about their health status and wished them a speedy recovery. The Health Ministry has mentioned that all hospitals have been providing free medical treatment to the injured and has requested detailed information on the total expenses incurred for the treatment along with supporting documents.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the incident, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the well-being of those injured in the protest and commending the efforts of healthcare providers in delivering prompt and effective treatment.
