KATHMANDU: The National Democratic Party has announced that leaders and activists from across the country will be gathering in Kathmandu on Jestha 15 to participate in a protest. This decision was conveyed by President Rajendra Lingden during a meeting of the Central Executive Committee held on Sunday.
Lingden also revealed that districts outside the valley will also be involved in the protest, with leaders from those areas being summoned to Kathmandu for at least a week. Additionally, it was decided in the meeting that the party’s district conventions will be concluded by the upcoming month of Asar.
In an official statement, Lingden stated, “We have rescheduled the completion of the district conventions to the month of Asar and set a deadline until Jestha for the same. All district conventions will be held by Asar according to the decision made.”
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented on the news, stating, “The upcoming protest organized by the National Democratic Party seems to be a significant event which will bring together leaders and activists from various parts of the country. It will be interesting to see the impact and outcomes of this gathering on the political landscape of Nepal.”
