The spread of COVID-19 in Nepal is on the rise, with cases being reported across various districts in recent times. According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), COVID-19 infections have been confirmed in 31 districts of Nepal from Jestha 17, 2081 to Asar 19, 2082.

In the recent past, 249 individuals have tested positive for coronavirus, with 35 cases detected in a week and three cases confirmed in the last 24 hours. Sadly, one fatality due to COVID-19 has also been recorded. The Ministry of Health and Population spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, emphasized the ministry’s efforts to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 by enhancing surveillance at 17 border checkpoints across the country. He mentioned that COVID-19 testing is being conducted at all health desks located at these border checkpoints following RT-PCR protocols.

To combat the spread of COVID-19, the public is advised to wear masks, practice regular handwashing with soap and water, use hand sanitizers, and maintain personal hygiene. Individuals returning from COVID-19 affected areas or exhibiting symptoms are urged to self-quarantine or isolate themselves.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern about the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Nepal. He emphasized the importance of following health protocols and guidelines to curb the spread of the virus and protect public health. Khatri stressed the need for collective efforts to combat the pandemic and urged the public to adhere to preventive measures to safeguard themselves and others.
