An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck near the Colombian capital of Bogotá on the morning of the 8th, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The quake hit around 8:08 a.m. local time (10:08 p.m. Japan time) in central Colombia.
Located in a seismically active region, Bogotá experienced the tremor originating near the city. The impact of the earthquake on the local population and infrastructure is still being assessed by authorities.
