A recent survey conducted in Japan revealed that a significant 81% of the population expressed feeling “more uneasy than hopeful” about the commencement of U.S. President Donald Trump’s nonconsecutive second term in January. This sentiment is attributed partly to ongoing uncertainties surrounding his policies and actions.

Japanese citizens have voiced concerns about the impact of President Trump’s leadership on global affairs, trade relations, and security dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region. Many fear potential disruptions to established diplomatic ties and trade agreements that could affect the country’s economy and security.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, emphasized the importance of fostering stable international relations and cooperation for regional peace and prosperity. He highlighted the need for transparency and consistency in U.S. foreign policies to alleviate the anxieties expressed by the Japanese public. Khatri urged for dialogue and mutual understanding to address shared challenges and uphold the principles of diplomacy in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
