A total of 395 individuals have successfully summited Mount Everest during the ongoing spring climbing season. According to the Department of Tourism, 135 climbers and 235 Sherpa guides have been granted permits for the ascent. Additionally, seven individuals make up the rope-fixing team that will pave the way to the summit.
Among the recent climbers, 468 individuals, including 86 women and 382 men, have received permission to climb Mount Everest as part of 47 different groups. This season has attracted climbers from 57 different countries, with a total of 1,168 individuals permitted to climb various peaks, including 27 other mountains in the Himalayan region.
In a recent successful attempt, 35 climbers reached the summit of Mount Everest in a single day this past Sunday, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed his optimism about the climbing season, highlighting the diverse group of climbers coming together to conquer the world’s highest peak. He emphasized the importance of safety measures and responsible tourism practices for the successful and sustainable growth of mountaineering in the region.
