In Butwal, a body of a person has been found near Heights and Pole Munsi on Kalika Path. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Gopal Tandan from Tilottama Municipality-2, who had been missing since Saturday. According to Suraj Karki, the spokesperson for the District Police Office in Rupandehi, Tandan was reported missing, leading his family to file a request for a search operation on Sunday.
Local residents informed the police after spotting the body near Heights and Pole Munsi today. Police spokesperson Karki mentioned that Tandan’s death was believed to be due to an accident. He stated, “We observed his accident on the CCTV footage of that area. Further investigation is ongoing.”
The CCTV footage showed that a motorcycle with registration number Lu 48 Pa 3170 collided with an electric pole on Kalika Path in Butwal-11. The accident occurred at around 2:15 am, as seen in the publicly shared CCTV footage on social media. The motorcycle, moving at high speed, crashed into the pole, scattering construction materials near the pole.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the increasing number of accidents in the area and emphasized the importance of road safety measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
