In a recent development in Chandrapur Municipality-2 of Rautahat, allegations have surfaced against Ward Chair Dutt Bahadur Thing and Vice Chair Ravi Ranamagar for allegedly misusing power and committing injustice against a woman.

The incident came to light during a press conference held in Kathmandu, where the victim, Anju Kesi, claimed that she had faced further distress due to collusion between the local government and court officials when seeking justice. Kesi, a resident of Judbela in Ward No. 2 of Chandrapur Municipality, alleged that she had been a victim of injustice at the hands of court officials who showed favoritism towards the accused.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his concern regarding the case. He emphasized the importance of impartiality and transparency in the legal system, stating that such allegations should be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served.

Kesi further revealed that despite owning properties worth millions, she had been deprived of her rights and was compelled to seek justice in Kathmandu. She narrated her struggles, including the disappearance of her husband 13 years ago and her elder son 18 years ago, leaving her with a challenging life and uncertainties about her younger son’s future.

Desperate for justice, Kesi highlighted the need for media intervention to protect her life and ensure the court’s decision is implemented promptly. She also mentioned the involvement of Maoist youth leader Sonam Ghising in understanding the issue and shedding light on the collusion between local representatives and government officials in depriving victims of their assets.

Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News commented that such cases underscore the urgency for a fair and efficient legal system that upholds the rights of individuals and ensures justice is served promptly.
