In Palpa, Nepal, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the senior vice-chair of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) and former Home Minister, has criticized the recent ordinances issued by the government, stating that they contradict the values of democracy. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Press Center Nepal, he accused the government of promulgating ordinances undemocratically and claimed that his party stood in opposition to such actions.
Shrestha emphasized that despite holding political power, the public has not been able to fully realize their economic and social rights. He also stressed that the Maoist Center remains vigilant against any violations of the rule of law, both in the parliament and on the streets, and is closely monitoring the government’s actions.
In response to this development, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the government’s approach towards democracy. He highlighted the importance of upholding democratic principles and ensuring that the government’s decisions align with the values of transparency and accountability. Khatri emphasized the need for constructive dialogue and adherence to constitutional processes to safeguard the democratic fabric of the nation.
