In a recent meeting of the House of Representatives held on Saturday, discussions were conducted on the Appropriation Bill 2082, which encompasses the allocation of various ministries. The meeting delved into the budgets of ten different ministries under this bill.
The discussions covered a range of topics related to different ministries, including Federal Affairs and General Administration, Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Defense, Health and Population, Drinking Water, Education, Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs, Labor, Employment and Social Security, Home and Communication and Information Technology.
Members of Parliament such as Dr. Chandrakant Bhandari, Sunita Baral, Devendra Poudel, Rama Koirla Poudel, Bhagwati Chaudhary, Mina Tamang, Lalprasad Sanwa Limbu, Vimala Suvedi, Deepa Sharma, Dev Prasad Timilsina, Nagina Yadav, Saraj Ahmad Faruqi, Kantika Sejuwal, Hitaraj Pandey, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Narayan Prasad Acharya, Shanti Vik, and Hridayaram Thani actively participated in the discussions.
The Speaker, Devraj Ghimire, informed that further discussions on the Appropriation Bill will take place on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Asar (June/July) to address queries related to the allocation of ministries and secretariats.
In the upcoming meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for the 8th of Asar, discussions will focus on the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Urban Development, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, National Planning Commission, Office of the President, and Office of the Vice President.
Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News believes that such detailed discussions and scrutiny of budget allocations are essential for ensuring transparency and accountability in government spending, ultimately benefiting the citizens of Nepal.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives is set to convene on the 8th of Asar at 11 AM.
