An unfortunate incident has occurred at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, India, where a Nepali student was found dead. The news was reported by the online edition of Odisha, stating that the body of a Nepali student was discovered in a university hostel. However, the identity of the deceased Nepali student has not been disclosed.
The Commissioner of Police in Cuttack, S. Dev Dutt Singh, has confirmed the death of the Nepali student. Nevertheless, the university has not provided any information regarding this incident.
This is not the first time a Nepali student has been found deceased at the same university. Previously, Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal’s body was also discovered at the KIIT campus. Following that incident, allegations were made against the university administration for inappropriate behavior towards Nepali students.
Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News: “It is distressing to hear about the tragic loss of another Nepali student at KIIT. Authorities must conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of these incidents and ensure the safety and well-being of all students, regardless of their nationality.”
