“Anti-Democratic Forces Still Active: Chairman Bijukchhe”

Nepal Workers and Peasants Party President Narayanman Bijukchhe (Rohit) has highlighted the continued presence of anti-democratic forces in Nepal, even after the establishment of democracy in the country. Speaking at the inauguration of the 66th anniversary celebration of Bagishwari Mavik in Bhaktapur, he pointed out that despite being in power, those lacking a visionary approach have allowed anti-democratic forces to remain active.

Bijukchhe emphasized the importance of a strong opposition in a democracy, stating that without a robust opposition, democracy can weaken. He noted that those in power must possess intellectual acumen to ensure the vitality of democracy, as individuals lacking principles are not deemed trustworthy. He also called for the government to grant recognition for the operation of Khwopa Vishwavidyalaya.

The program’s chairman and the head of Bhaktapur Municipality, Sunil Prajapati, expressed concern over the shortage of skilled human resources in Nepal, with a yearly loss of one lakh Nepali students going abroad. Prajapati underscored the need for the state to establish free education and employment opportunities to address this brain drain.

Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, views Bijukchhe’s remarks as a crucial reminder of the ongoing challenges facing Nepal’s democracy. He believes that fostering a culture of intellectual excellence among those in power is essential for the sustenance of a healthy democratic system. Khatri also supports Prajapati’s call for the government to prioritize initiatives that will retain skilled individuals within the country, thereby contributing to its development.
