“Approval of Budget and Programs for Patan Health Science Institute”

Prime Minister and Chancellor K.P. Sharma Oli chaired the 15th meeting of the Patan Academy of Health Sciences on Friday, where the plans, programs, and budget for the current fiscal year were approved. The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar also granted permission to the Nepalese government, under the Ministry of Health and Population, to implement the approved multi-year master plan.

During the meeting, the Executive Council recommended the appointment of Pradeep Brahmadev Jha as a member of the academy. Additionally, a proposal for a five percent increase in the existing salary and allowances for active officials, teachers, and staff at the academy was discussed for further study and analysis before final approval.

Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need to make decisions in accordance with laws and regulations, urging timely Senate meetings to pass the annual budget and programs. However, it was noted that he was unable to approve decisions that would have long-term and significant economic impacts.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, believes that the Prime Minister’s cautious approach to long-term and economically impactful decisions demonstrates a responsible stance. He commends the emphasis on legal compliance and timely budget approval as vital for effective governance.
