In a recent parliamentary session, lawmakers raised pressing public issues to draw the government’s attention. The meeting commenced with the leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) expressing criticism over the attack on spectators during the final competition of Prime Minister Cup on February 19. He demanded legal action against the perpetrators for their actions, emphasizing the need to uphold the rule of law.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, shared his perspective on the matter, highlighting the importance of holding those responsible accountable for their actions. “Ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens at public events is crucial, and it is imperative that the government enforces the rule of law to prevent such incidents in the future,” he stated.
Lawmaker Manish Jha advocated for providing immediate service facilities to the remaining 103 employees of Udayapur Cement Industry Limited who have not received their due benefits. He urged the government to address the issue promptly and ensure that employees receive their entitled benefits without further delay.
Furthermore, the parliament discussed various incidents, including a case of attempted suicide by a student, Rupandehi Tilottama-8, due to alleged mistreatment. The lawmakers emphasized the importance of investigating such incidents thoroughly and holding the perpetrators accountable under the law.
Commenting on the situation, Ramesh Khatri remarked, “It is essential to prioritize the well-being of individuals in our society. The government must take swift action to address issues of mistreatment and ensure justice for all citizens.”
In another development, parliamentarian Thakur Prasad Gaire addressed the issue of the ongoing agitation by the Forest Consumers Association. He emphasized the need for proper management of forest resources to promote sustainable practices and urged authorities to explore avenues for export while reducing imports. Gaire also called for a review of past agreements between the government and the Teachers’ Association to ensure their effective implementation.
Khatri shared his insights on the current situation in Lumbini Province, where protests have begun. He stressed the importance of addressing issues at both the provincial and national levels to find immediate solutions and provide effective governance.
