Kathmandu: A group of Nepali youths, including student Sudip Nyopane, were among the 26 tourists who lost their lives in a terrorist attack by a militant group in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on the 9th of Vaishakh. In response to this tragic incident, the Nepali Citizen Campaign staged a demonstration in front of the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu.

The demonstrators strongly condemned the heinous terrorist attack and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. They pointed out that the Pakistani army chief’s derogatory remarks against the global Hindu community a few days earlier had also incited religious tensions.

The Nepali Citizen Campaign has urged the international community through a memorandum to unite against terrorism and to provide compensation to the affected families. During the protest, participants peacefully gathered, raising their voices and calling for justice.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the demonstration by the Nepali Citizen Campaign reflects the country’s solidarity against terrorism and sends a message of support to the victims and their families. He emphasized the importance of standing together globally to combat such acts of violence.
