“Baglung Starry Snow Powder: From Japan to Korea and Beyond”

In the rural municipality of Tarakhola, Ward No. 5, in Dhorpatan, a 46-year-old woman named Mankali Gharti Magar has been actively involved in producing Sisno (nettles) powder since the year 2067 BS. She has been processing the nettles collected from the forests of Kher into a fine powder, which is then distributed to major cities within the country and even sent abroad.

Mankali Gharti Magar’s dedication to sustainably producing Sisno powder has not only benefited her personally but has also contributed to the local economy and promoted the use of natural resources in a responsible manner. This initiative showcases the potential for rural entrepreneurship and the utilization of indigenous plants for commercial purposes.
