Bhaktapur Hospital, a century-old institution, has recently been recognized as one of the top hospitals nationwide. The hospital received an outstanding score of 90 out of 100 in the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) evaluation conducted as part of hospital management strengthening. This achievement marks Bhaktapur Hospital as the best-performing hospital in the country.

During a public program, Health Minister of Bagmati Province, Kiran Thapa, praised the hospital’s consistent improvement, highlighting the dedication of the staff towards maintaining high-quality standards. The Ministry of Health has allocated Rs. 100 million for neuro services at the hospital, with plans to introduce dialysis services within a month and construct new facilities in the upcoming fiscal year.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed admiration for the hospital’s success, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in raising healthcare standards. He commended the collaborative efforts of the hospital staff, management committee, and the positive impact of eliminating any unethical practices.

This milestone at Bhaktapur Hospital sets a benchmark for other regional hospitals to strive towards similar excellence. Dr. Sumitra Gautam, Health Secretary of Bagmati Province, highlighted the significance of this achievement in enhancing healthcare services across the region. The hospital’s example is expected to inspire improvements in the remaining 12 regional hospitals within the province.

Furthermore, the Federal Government’s initiative to assess healthcare quality through the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) evaluation team, led by Roshani Tuitui, Chief Nursing Officer of Veer Hospital Nursing College, has brought transparency and accountability to the sector. Bhaktapur Hospital’s recognition as the top performer underscores the need for it to be elevated to an esteemed institution.

Lumbini Provincial Hospital and Bharatpur Hospital secured the second and third positions, respectively, in the evaluation. Dr. Phanindra Prasad Baral, a member of the evaluation team from Veer Hospital, shared details of the assessment, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery.

Hospital Director Surendra Prasad Bhatta highlighted the range of services and facilities offered by the hospital, noting a significant increase in patient admissions compared to previous years. The hospital has excelled in providing services ranging from outpatient care to surgeries and maternity services.
