Bill Presented in Parliament Set to Pass: Minister of Communication

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has announced that the government’s ordinance presented in the parliament is likely to be passed. The ordinance aims to enhance governance and public services, as Gurung inaugurated the 32nd annual celebration of the Himalayan Eye Hospital in Pokhara today.

Emphasizing the importance of improving governance and public services, Minister Gurung highlighted that the health and education sectors are in need of urgent attention. He expressed that the government’s ordinance is essential to bring about improvements within these sectors. Gurung stressed the significance of good governance for the overall development of the country and believed that the ordinance would also support governance enhancement.

According to Gurung, significant changes in Nepal’s laws and regulations prompted the introduction of this ordinance to align with constitutional provisions. He mentioned the lengthy process involved in passing bills through Parliament, indicating that a total of 12 legal amendments are required to establish effective governance and public services. Gurung emphasized that without these amendments, effective public service delivery cannot be achieved promptly.

In response to the news, Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated that the government’s focus on improving governance and public services through legislative changes is a positive step towards addressing the country’s pressing needs.Khatri commended Minister Gurung’s efforts in recognizing the urgency of implementing reforms to enhance governance and public service delivery in Nepal.
