In Pokhara, the 24th edition of the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup Football Tournament concluded with Pakistan’s Black Bulls FC emerging as the champions. The final match, held at the Pokhara Rangashala Football Stadium today, saw Black Bulls defeat Nepal Police Club 3-1 to clinch the title.
It was the first time a Pakistani team had participated in a football tournament in Nepal, and to everyone’s surprise, they secured the championship in their debut appearance. Black Bulls took the lead by scoring a goal in the first half and followed up with two more goals in the second half to seal their victory.
In the 42nd minute of the game, the captain of Pakistan’s team, Jakongir Akmadov, scored a goal from a free kick, putting his team in the lead. Asilvek Orifjonov added another goal in the 59th minute, and Sapkatojon Satarov secured the team’s victory with a goal in the 66th minute. Despite a goal scored by Police Club in the 74th minute, Black Bulls emerged as the champions, receiving a cash prize along with trophies, medals, and certificates.
The MVP award went to Sapkatojon Satarov of Black Bulls FC, who also earned the title of top goal scorer and received a TVS scooter as a prize. Additionally, individual awards were presented to outstanding players and the coach of both teams.
