A bridge collapse on the Narayangadh-Butwal road has caused a major disruption in the traffic flow in the Girubari area of Nawalpur district, located under the Purwanchal Highway. The incident occurred last night when the bridge collapsed, obstructing the movement of vehicles completely.
District Traffic Police Chief Janak Raj Banjara confirmed that the collapse occurred after a truck carrying goods had crossed the bridge. The weight of the truck caused the bridge to cave in at some points below it, leading to a precarious situation. Additionally, there are visible cracks in the structure of the bridge, indicating potential structural damage.
Banjara stated that until the bridge is thoroughly inspected and deemed safe for use, it remains uncertain whether vehicles can resume passing through it. The traffic authorities are currently assessing the situation to determine the extent of the damage and the necessary steps to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
