After being blocked for 16 hours due to a landslide in the Roshi Khola area of Kavrepalanchok’s Roshi Gaunpalika-12, the BP Highway has been reopened for traffic. The landslide, which occurred on Monday, resulted in diversions being made in Mamti following the collapse of the road.
With the road now open, all traffic facilities have been allowed to operate on both sides since Tuesday afternoon, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale. The road blockage occurred following the landslide in Roshi Khola on Monday night.
Chandrabahadur Lama, an employee at the Bhaktapur Road Division Office, stated that with the cooperation of the police and locals, the blocked road was reopened. Previously, the landslide in Roshi Khola during the same period last year had caused damage to various parts of the BP Highway. Subsequently, temporary diversions were set up along the riverbank by the Road Division Office to facilitate traffic operations.
**Opinion from Ramesh Khatri, Kansai Nepal News Representative:**
Ramesh Khatri commented that the swift response and collaboration between authorities and locals to reopen the BP Highway after the landslide is commendable. This incident highlights the importance of efficient disaster management and infrastructure maintenance to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and overall safety for commuters.
