Kathmandu – The fiscal budget bill for the upcoming fiscal year 2082 has been passed by the House of Representatives on Saturday. During the meeting of the House of Representatives on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Prasad Paudel proposed the bill to be passed, which was subsequently approved by the majority. This bill includes provisions related to taxation.
In response to questions raised during the discussion on the proposed amendments to the bill, Finance Minister Paudel emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in tax policy to create an investment-friendly environment. He also mentioned priorities such as expanding the scope of taxation, controlling revenue leakages, and bringing the informal economy into the tax net.
Minister Paudel highlighted that by reviewing tax rates each year, the government aims to address issues that may pose challenges for taxpayers while ensuring policy stability. All proposed amendments to the fiscal budget bill for the year 2082 were rejected by the majority.
