The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police-32 arrested 24-year-old Sanjay Basnet from Palati House in Nagarpalika-4, Sindhupalchok, on Sunday afternoon. Basnet is allegedly involved in a Hyundai car business scam linked to Pepsi Cola.
According to the police, the arrest was made at the District Police Office in Kathmandu, following a tip-off. Basnet was found in possession of cash amounting to NPR 2,029,620, a mobile phone, and 30 checks from various banks. The police suspect that these items were obtained through fraudulent activities related to the Hyundai car business.
Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the matter to uncover more details about the alleged scam.
