India’s 76th Republic Day was celebrated by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu through various programs. The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, hoisted the Indian national flag and extended best wishes to the Indian community residing in Nepal during a ceremony held at the embassy on Sunday. The event also featured a direct broadcast of a speech made by the President of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, addressing the nation.

Moreover, the Embassy provided 23 lakhs worth of books to 29 educational institutions across Nepal. Additionally, a ‘Know India Quiz’ (BIKE) was organized from November 11 to December 11, where the top 50 participants from Nepal were awarded certificates of recognition.
The BIKE quiz aimed to deepen the understanding of India’s culture and knowledge among foreign nationals and Indian diaspora living abroad. The event served as an opportunity to disseminate information and promote a better understanding of Indian culture and heritage.
Cultural presentations were performed by students from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kathmandu, during the ceremony held at the Embassy.
