The event, known as “Fuku-mikuji,” will take place from January 3rd (Friday) to 5th (Sunday) at the Daimaru Kobe Department Store located at 40 Akashimachi, Chuo-ku, Kobe.
During the period from January 3rd (Friday) to 5th (Sunday), customers who make a purchase of over ¥5,000 (tax included) at Daimaru Kobe Department Store can draw one fortune slip per receipt. Prizes will be awarded based on the fortune drawn, with a grand prize of “Special Great Fortune” awarding the lucky recipient with a nationwide department store common voucher worth ¥100,000. Only the first 5,000 slips per day will be available until supplies last.
To claim your prize, you must bring your fortune slip to the designated exchange date, time, and location, so remember to take note of these details.
The prize exchange will take place on January 11th (Saturday) and 12th (Sunday) from 11:00 to 16:00 at the special counter located next to the main stage on the first floor of Daimaru Kobe Department Store.
Additionally, following the New Year, there will be a traditional Japanese musical instrument performance event. After the event, a 15-minute “Children’s Taiko Drum Experience” will be offered. Participation is free, with only 10 slots available per session. Arrive approximately 30 minutes before each session to collect your numbered ticket.
The event will be held on January 4th (Saturday) and 5th (Sunday) at the main stage area on the first floor of Daimaru Kobe Department Store. The performance will be by the Yamanaka Yukikazu Japanese musical instrument unit, a native of Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. He graduated from the Percussion Department of Osaka College of Music and joined “kogakusyu shou” after graduation. Since 2021, he has been actively engaged in solo activities as a Taiko drum and Shinobue (Japanese bamboo flute) player, collaborating with different genres and providing instruction and music to kindergartens, nurseries, schools, Taiko teams, and more.
Starting in 2025, Daimaru Kobe Department Store will be closed on January 2nd, with the New Year’s sale beginning on January 3rd. Don’t forget to try your luck with the “Fortune Drawing” if you spend over ¥5,000.
