In a recent statement, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized the inevitability of a shift in the global order. He stated that while promoting democratic values in the Global South, it is not just about assuming leadership in that region but aspiring to lead the world’s largest democracy towards becoming the third-largest economy in the near future.
The Indian Foreign Minister discussed the existing imbalances in the current global order and emphasized the need for a new and balanced world system. He believes that a strong global system requires stable foundational principles to be upheld.
