Authorities in the Tibet region of China have issued a warning about the possibility of heavy rainfall causing the Bhote Koshi River to flood from June 3 to June 7. The Chinese police have urged vigilance in the riverbank areas surrounding Bhote Koshi and other rivers due to the potential risk of flooding. This caution comes following a notification from the Chinese police to the administration in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, where district officer Ganesh Nepali emphasized the need for alertness in the riverbank areas.
The notification highlights the regions at risk, including Bhote Koshi and Sunkoshi rivers in areas such as Bhote Koshi Gaunpalika, Bahrabishe Nagarpalika, Tripurasundari Gaunpalika, Sunkoshi Gaunpalika, Balefi Gaunpalika, and Chautara Sangachowkgadi Nagarpalika. It advises residents living in these areas to be cautious and prepared for potential risks associated with the rivers.
In response to this warning, Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the safety of the communities residing along the Bhote Koshi River and emphasized the importance of staying vigilant during this period of increased risk. He urged residents to heed the warnings and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.
