“Clash in Taplejung: Police Disperse Tear Gas”

In the region of Taplejung Pathibhara, a confrontation occurred between the police and cable workers on the road leading to the Mandir in Ward 11 of the Phungling Municipality. The situation escalated to the point where the police had to resort to using force to control the situation, resulting in the deployment of tear gas shells.

According to authorities in Taplejung, a group opposing the construction activities of the cable workers had gathered to halt the work, leading to a tense standoff. Upon the police’s arrival to prevent any further escalation and disruption, a tense atmosphere prevailed in the area.

To disperse the group, the Nepal Police employed non-lethal force, with regular police officers conducting 5 rounds of tear gas shelling, while the armed police force carried out 7 rounds. The use of force was deemed necessary to restore order and ensure the safety of all involved parties.
