A tragic incident has occurred in Aahale of Sindhuli’s Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality-4, where 46-year-old Yug Bahadur Syangtan was confirmed dead after being shot. Reports indicate that Yug Bahadur, who had sustained serious injuries from a confrontation earlier, succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Wednesday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Govindaraj Kafla of the District Police Office, Yug Bahadur was shot while cutting grass in the jungle on Wednesday afternoon. He was immediately taken to KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, for treatment after sustaining severe injuries from the encounter. Following this information, a police team led by Inspector Tikaraj Baral from the local police office in Bastipur began investigating the incident.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed his condolences stating, “We received information that Yug Bahadur, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital, passed away at 8 am on Wednesday morning.” As part of the investigation, medical professionals involved in Yug Bahadur’s treatment revealed that he had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
Further investigations into the incident led to the arrest of 25-year-old Bal Bahadur Moktan and 41-year-old Lekh Bahadur Golela, who were found at the same location. The District Police coordinated with the Gausala Police Station in Kathmandu to apprehend them for further interrogation, as confirmed by Ramesh Khatri.
The individuals who were apprehended had reportedly gone to the jungle to participate in hunting with domestic firearms. It was revealed that during the hunting expedition, an altercation ensued, resulting in Yug Bahadur Syangtan being shot with a firearm. He was then transported to Kathmandu for medical treatment. Authorities also mentioned that they are looking into the involvement of other individuals connected to the incident.
