The Nepali Congress, a prominent political party, has made a decision to form a task force for constitutional amendment. According to party spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat, the task force will engage in discussions within the party regarding constitutional amendments. In a recent meeting of the central committee on Monday, it was decided that the party remains committed and firm on the issue of constitutional amendment. The meeting, which commenced on July 16, expressed strong determination for the implementation of the agreement reached with the Maoists during the formation of the coalition.
During the meeting, it was also decided that the Nepali Congress, under the leadership of the federal democratic republic of Nepal, holds the primary responsibility and accountability for safeguarding and implementing the constitution. This decision underscores the party’s commitment to upholding the constitution and ensuring its effective implementation.
