The Nepali Congress has reiterated its commitment to not change the ruling coalition, as discussed in a recent parliamentary meeting held in Kathmandu. During the meeting at the Parliament House in New Baneshwor on Saturday, party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue with the opposition parties and focusing on changing the working style rather than seeking a change in government.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, stated, “The decision of the Nepali Congress to maintain the current coalition government reflects a strategic move towards stability and continuity in governance.”
Various topics were discussed during the meeting, including the need for a change in the government’s working style. Lawmaker Hridayaram Thani highlighted the importance of altering the working style but clarified that there was no immediate plan for a government change.
Additionally, Congress MP Prakash Sharan Mahat informed that a phone call between former Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and party chairman Deuba only happened by coincidence, dispelling any rumors of a deliberate political alliance.
Furthermore, concerns were raised by lawmakers regarding delays in appointments and other pressing issues. The congress members also presented suggestions for equitable distribution of the budget and balanced development in various sectors, emphasizing the importance of fair allocation and inclusive growth strategies.
In response to the developments, Ramesh Khatri commented, “The discussions and decisions made by the Nepali Congress during the parliamentary meeting demonstrate a pragmatic approach towards governance and coalition stability, reflecting a commitment to address key issues while maintaining political equilibrium.”
