“Congress supports policy and program with creative suggestions in their approach”

The Nepali Congress has decided to actively participate in the deliberation and support of the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 presented by the government. The decision was made during a meeting held at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor under the chairmanship of party president and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday.

During the parliamentary party meeting, it was decided to extend support to the policies and programs after incorporating national priorities. The Chief Whip of the parliamentary party, Shyam Ghimire, disclosed that suggestions will be provided to the government for translating the upcoming budget. The meeting also decided to play an active role in the construction of bills to expedite the legislative process in both the parliament and parliamentary committees.

Moreover, a commitment has been made to pass the School Education Bill within the next 15 days as agreed with the Nepal Teachers’ Association. The meeting also urged for an investigation into the demise of a Nepali student in Odisha, India, and the recent incident in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, condolences were expressed for the late Constituent Assembly member Teertharam Dangol.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, remarked that the active involvement and support of the Nepali Congress in shaping the country’s policies and programs reflect a collaborative effort towards addressing national priorities. Khatri highlighted the importance of parliamentary discussions and decision-making processes in advancing the legislative agenda for the betterment of Nepal’s governance.
