Nepali Congress’s Minister Gagankumar Thapa has expressed that the party will engage in politics based on inclusive principles, emphasizing moderation and responsibility. Speaking at the first convention organized by the Nepal Tamang Sangh Koshi Province in Itahari on Friday, he highlighted the Congress’s approach to politics as inclusive, moderate, and responsible rather than provocative and confrontational.

Thapa emphasized the importance of fostering unity and harmony within communities, discouraging the exploitation of emotions based on ethnicity or religion for personal gain. He stated that the party’s goal is to progress by granting rights, promoting inclusivity, raising awareness, providing training, and initiating self-improvement.

Regarding constitutional amendments, Thapa stressed the need for consensus among all parties, including the Maoists and the CPN (UML), and emphasized the necessity for dialogue at the citizen level to move forward effectively.

Thapa clarified that constitutional amendments would not diminish any community’s rights but rather strengthen them. He stated, “Rights granted to someone do not diminish others’ rights; they only increase, not decrease.”

Acknowledging the contributions of the Tamang community, Thapa expressed the commitment of the Congress to play a strong role in advancing the prosperity of the Tamang community. He highlighted the Congress as a party that brings together people of all castes, religions, languages, and communities, stating, “In Congress, everyone can find a place; Congress has the capacity to accommodate everyone.”

As a representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri expresses his view that Thapa’s emphasis on inclusive, moderate, and responsible politics aligns well with fostering unity and harmony within communities. Khatri commends Thapa’s stance on constitutional amendments and his commitment to upholding the rights and prosperity of all communities in Nepal.
