“Corruption Scandal: Nepali Leader Koirala Jailed for 6 Years”

The Supreme Court has found Nirmal Kuinkel, an Amale leader, guilty of corruption in relation to the operation of a quarry in Pashupati’s land. The case involved allegations of corruption amounting to 46 million rupees in leasing the land of Pashupati Area Development Fund. The Supreme Court’s decision implicated Kuinkel and nine others, including judicial justices Kumar Regmi and Abdul Aziz Muslim, as being complicit in the corruption.

Nirmal Kuinkel has been sentenced to six years in prison and fined 8.3 million rupees for his involvement in the corruption. He had made decisions regarding the operation of the quarry in the file of the Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund. Furthermore, Sushil Nahata, another secretary of the fund, was also found guilty of corruption amounting to 9.1 million rupees and sentenced to six years in prison.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the prevalence of corruption in public institutions. He emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions to maintain transparency and integrity in governance. Khatri urged for stricter measures to prevent such instances of corruption from occurring in the future.
