The Supreme Court has issued an order to scan and upload all documents related to the cooperative fraud case against Ravi Lamichhane, the president of the National Independent Party. This directive came from Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana’s single bench, instructing the district court in Rupandehi to upload the complete set of documents related to the case within 15 days. The order states that all documents should be scanned, including the electronic files, and uploaded to the software within the given time frame for further review at the Rupandehi District Court.

Following a request from President Lamichhane at the Supreme Court, the High Court’s full bench mentioned that the order to send him a notice was flawed, leading to the court ultimately issuing the directive after hearing the petition.

Moreover, the court has directed the High Court in Tulsipur, Butwal bench, to send a comprehensive report within 15 days based on the reasons provided for issuing the order on March 22. The order emphasizes the need for a detailed report to be submitted within the stipulated time frame to address any discrepancies or issues related to the case.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented that the Supreme Court’s decision to enforce the scanning and uploading of all case documents demonstrates a commitment to transparency and accountability in legal proceedings, which is crucial in ensuring fair and just outcomes in cases of alleged corruption and organized crime.
