Creating the Base for Nairobi Airlines at Gautam Buddha Airport

The Lumbini Province in Nepal has requested the establishment of a base for ‘NyaroBodi’ airlines at the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. This initiative by the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) aims to enhance connectivity to China, the third countries on the Buddhist circuit, and Gulf countries for migrant workers, potentially leading to long-term benefits.

A recent workshop held in Butwal has confirmed the need for the operation of NyaroBodi airlines at the Gautam Buddha International Airport. The President of NATTA, Chandra Bahadur Thapa, and Secretary Sita Basyal jointly issued a statement urging the government to formulate more effective plans for the operation of the airport.

Moreover, NATTA has also advocated for the announcement of incentive packages, including daily inter-province air connectivity services with at least one aircraft to ensure regular flights. Additionally, they have requested the announcement of bus and hotel facilities for international air travelers, emphasizing the need for a traveler-friendly policy.

The announcement further indicates that a list of tourism programs to be conducted throughout the year will be determined through planning workshops and fellowship programs. The participation of 50 travel entrepreneurs in various thematic committees has been confirmed in these workshops and fellowship programs organized by Madhav Nepal, a member of the Lumbini Province Tourism Council, focusing on hospitality and tourism development.
