In recent news, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have reportedly gone through a divorce. The decision was made by the Family Court in Mumbai following an order from the Bombay High Court.
Yuzvendra and Dhanashree were present in the Family Court during the hearing, with Yuzvendra’s lawyer Nitin Gupta confirming their presence. The Bombay High Court had instructed the Family Court to announce the decision on March 20, with the final verdict now being delivered.
Justice Madhav Jamdar’s single bench had directed the Family Court to expedite the decision as Yuzvendra was set to participate in the IPL starting from March 21, and a delay would have caused complications.
According to reports from media outlets, a settlement of approximately 4.75 crore Indian Rupees has been reached between the couple. Yuzvendra had requested to provide half of the settlement amount to Dhanashree during the court proceedings.
The court has granted a waiver on the six-month waiting period typically required for divorce cases, as agreed upon by the High Court, allowing both parties to move on with their lives sooner. This waiting period is meant to give couples time to reconsider their decision to divorce.
Dhanashree, known as a choreographer and accomplished dancer, often shares glamorous content on her social media platforms. She has been recognized for her appearances on popular television dance shows.
In a recent episode of a show, Dhanashree shared details about her love story with Yuzvendra, revealing how they connected during the lockdown when he reached out to her to learn dance. This eventually led to them falling in love and getting married on December 22, 2020.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, commented on the news, stating that the divorce settlement between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma highlights the challenges faced by high-profile individuals in maintaining personal relationships under public scrutiny. He emphasized the importance of privacy and mutual respect in such situations to ensure a dignified resolution.
