In a thrilling match of the U-16 National Cricket Tournament held in Surkhet, Karnali, Lumbini Province’s Rounak Shrivastav showcased a remarkable performance with a phenomenal innings. Before getting out, Shrivastav scored 217 runs facing 117 balls, hitting 16 sixes and 16 fours against Gandaki Province on Tuesday.
Known for his ability to score centuries in U-16 matches as a solo batsman, Shrivastav’s innings of 217 runs played a crucial role in leading Lumbini to set a target of 404 runs for Gandaki in 45.4 overs. Another key contribution came from Lumbini’s batsman Laxman Kumal, who added 60 runs to the scoreboard.
Gandaki’s bowlers Karn Gaire took three wickets, Raj Pariyar claimed two, while Suprim Sunar, Sujan Aryal, Ridam Pandey, Shailesh Kafle, and Anish Raut each grabbed a wicket.
Currently, Gandaki Province is in the process of responding to Lumbini’s challenging target.
