The recent decision by the government to provide financial relief to the families of the deceased in a tragic incident that occurred in Tin Kune last Chaitra has been met with approval. Savin Maharjan and Suresh Rajkak’s families will each receive a relief amount of NPR 10 lakh per family.

During a press conference held on Wednesday, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, along with the government spokesperson, Prithvi Subba Gurung, informed the public about this decision made by the Council of Ministers on Baisakh 8. Additionally, the formation of a 15-member High-Level Governance Reform Commission under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister was also disclosed.

Furthermore, it was revealed that the government has approved a visit by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Chief Secretary Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokharel to New Delhi, Dehradun, and Lucknow from Baisakh 16 to 22 for bilateral discussions. The government has also decided to avail a loan assistance of USD 100 million from the OPEC Fund for International Development for implementing the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Project.

Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on the government’s recent decisions, stating that the financial relief for the affected families and the establishment of the Governance Reform Commission are positive steps towards addressing the needs of the people.

In addition to these decisions, the government has approved the participation of officials in various international programs, including the ‘Counterpart Program’ in Japan and the ‘RIMES Council Meeting and Fourth RIMES Ministerial Conference’ in Sri Lanka. The government has also given consent for engaging in the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) 81st session in Bangkok, Thailand.

Moreover, the government has granted approval for Nepal to participate in various international events, such as the ‘YUEN PISKEEPING Ministerial 2025’ in Berlin, Germany, and the ‘Joint Indo-Mountaineering to Mount Kanchanjunga’ program, which involves climbers from India and Nepal scaling the Kanchenjunga Himal.

Lastly, the government’s decisions regarding the registration of government land for specific projects and the appointment of officials in key positions have been met with general approval. The proactive approach taken by the government in addressing various issues has been acknowledged by Ramesh Khatri, showing optimism towards the government’s commitment to governance and development.
