Discover the ‘Just Campaign’ by the Nepali government – What is it about?

In Kabhrepalanchok, the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) district committee has initiated a three-month-long ‘Jara Abhiyan’ centered around ward centers. The campaign, named ‘Jara Abhiyan’ by the Maoists, follows the Mission-084 campaign undertaken after the unsatisfactory results of the 2079 Mangsir elections.

Today, during the party’s fourth full meeting, it was decided to launch the ‘Jara Abhiyan’ from now on. The party leaders and activists in the district have been oriented towards this campaign by the party’s permanent committee member and Bagmati Province committee in-charge Rajan Bhattarai, along with the Politburo member and district in-charge Gokul Prasad Banskota.

During the occasion, In-charge Bhattarai directed continuous public engagement towards the campaign for good governance, development, and the realization of a prosperous Nepal, aligning with the government’s projects and future plans. District In-charge Banskota prepared a clear strategy for the district’s prosperity and urged for budget allocation and further focus on citizen-centric initiatives.

The party’s district president, Rajan Bhurtel, outlined plans to complete the remaining local level and ward committee conventions in the campaign’s course, renew membership by mid-Chaitra, establish a people’s organization committee, and push for the success of the government’s development campaign. The campaign is set to continue until the 15th of Baisakh.

Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, views the ‘Jara Abhiyan’ as a strategic move by the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) to consolidate its influence at the grassroots level and align its agenda with local development priorities. Khatri emphasizes the importance of sustained citizen engagement and effective utilization of resources to ensure the campaign’s success and foster community development in the region.
