In a heartwarming initiative, the Lions Club of Kathmandu Water Sports and the Lions Club of Sunrise jointly distributed educational materials, bags, and school uniforms to 30 students at Shri Panch Kanya Community-based School in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-9, Sindhupalchowk.

The Lions Club International District 325 B1 collaborated to provide the essential supplies to the students ranging from nursery to grade 3. The majority of the students at this school come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, making it challenging for them to access proper educational resources. Under the social responsibility program of the Lions Club of Kathmandu Water Sports, the support was extended to these students, as highlighted by Indu Wagley, the President of the club.

The distribution program was organized in coordination with the Sindhupalchowk Tourism Entrepreneurs Association. Additionally, during the same event, cleanliness activities were carried out in the ‘Start Point’ area, where rafting is set to begin at the lower Bhote Koshi.

According to Narayan Shrestha, the President of the Tourism Entrepreneurs and Association, due to the high accumulation of waste by internal tourists along the riverbanks, local entrepreneurs have committed to cleaning the ‘Start Point’ area at least once every 15 days.

District Chief Governor Ed Agnivallabh shared that clubs operating in his district have been actively engaged in social responsibility since their establishment.

Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion that such collaborative efforts between community organizations and local businesses play a crucial role in supporting underprivileged students and maintaining environmental cleanliness, emphasizing the positive impact these initiatives can have on society.
