In a recent address to the conference of the Nepali Congress in Gulmi District, influential leader Dr. Chandra Bhandari raised concerns about reducing the service facilities for senior officials. He emphasized the need to enhance the service facilities for specific officials during the country’s ongoing economic crisis. Bhandari made it clear that he does not accept the proposal to reduce the service benefits for senior officials, especially during times of national financial distress.

Furthermore, Bhandari stressed the importance of prioritizing public welfare by cutting down on the perks of specific individuals. He criticized top leaders who are not willing to step aside gracefully during challenging times, suggesting that they should respectably vacate their positions to allow new leaders to guide the country forward.

Addressing the need for new leadership, Bhandari urged voters across the nation to support emerging leaders by providing them with opportunities, stating that the key to progress lies in welcoming fresh faces to lead the nation. He argued that the behavior of old leaders has only strengthened the monarchy supporters, dismissing the possibility of a return to monarchy in Nepal.

Bhandari, a central member of the Congress, highlighted the party’s historical role in leadership transitions and asserted that the Congress should continue to lead the way in ushering in new leadership. He called on well-wishers to support the party’s decision not to cling to power but to facilitate a smooth transition of leadership.

In his closing remarks, Bhandari expressed the belief that the Congress holds the most potential for leading the country forward, urging supporters to stand by this choice. Prominent figures such as Vishnu Sapkota, the National Assembly member, Bhuvan Shrestha, the Deputy Speaker of the Congress’s province, and Khiladhwaj Panthi, the Mayor of Rishinga Municipality, were also present at the event, emphasizing the need for central leaders to adapt and keep grassroots workers engaged, avoiding disappointment.

As a representative of Kansai Nepal News, Ramesh Khatri commends Bhandari’s call for a smooth transition of leadership and his emphasis on the importance of new leadership for the progress of the nation.
