Dry Spell: No Snow, No Rain

In Myagdi, the arrival of winter is delayed, with only about three to seven hours left before the snowfall begins. This delay in the onset of winter has raised concerns due to the lack of snowfall and rainfall in the past five months, leading to significant environmental impacts. Without snowfall in the region, the snow-capped mountains of the Seti Himalayas have remained bare, affecting the local ecosystem and water resources.

Local residents and environmentalists are closely monitoring the situation, as the delayed winter and the absence of precipitation have the potential to disrupt the delicate balance of the ecosystem. The impact of these changing weather patterns is a cause for worry, especially for those dependent on the region’s natural resources for their livelihoods.

Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his concern regarding the delayed winter and its implications on the environment. He emphasized the need for timely and adequate snowfall to maintain the ecological equilibrium in the region. Khatri highlighted the importance of sustainable environmental practices and urged authorities to take proactive measures to mitigate the effects of the delayed winter on the local communities and ecosystems.
