KATHMANDU – Durga Prasai, the leader of the unruly activities that took place in various areas on Friday, has reportedly gone into hiding. Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend her from different locations.
Prasai had previously stated, “Wherever the police call me, that’s where I will go.” However, a police official has now confirmed that she is currently on the run.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has identified Prasai as the main culprit in the incidents of arson, looting, and lawlessness that occurred on Friday. Additionally, the government has announced its intention to take legal action against all those involved in the events.
Meanwhile, in another development, the police have placed Navaraj Suvedi, the coordinator of the organization ‘United People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy,’ under house arrest.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed concern over the escalating law and order situation in the region. “The recent incidents are a cause for alarm and highlight the need for swift and effective measures to restore peace and stability,” Khatri stated.
