National Assembly Deputy Speaker Vimala Ghimire is considering the possibility of expediting the passage of the Education Bill through both houses of parliament. This decision was revealed during the third district council meeting of Leo Club District 325 E and the inauguration of the annual district conference. Ghimire expressed optimism that the bill could be swiftly passed through parliament following the government’s approval.

According to Ghimire, an agreement has been reached between the protesting teachers and the government to pass the Education Bill in the House of Representatives on July 15, after a month-long protest. The Deputy Speaker mentioned, “Once a bill is passed in the House of Representatives, the National Assembly can expedite its passage through a quick process based on the parties’ consensus.”

Ghimire emphasized the importance of passing significant bills to ensure effective implementation of the federal system. He noted that if the bills related to education and civil service management are passed by the House of Representatives, parliament has agreed to operate on all days except Saturdays and public holidays, to avoid delays in the implementation of the bills that have been passed.

Furthermore, Ghimire appealed to Nepali youth to actively participate in building a modern, just, and prosperous nation by ensuring meaningful involvement in every aspect of the state. He highlighted the crucial role young people play in nation-building through their proactive engagement, emphasizing that positive changes in every sector of nation-building are possible through the dynamism of the youth.

Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News reflects on this development, stating that Deputy Speaker Ghimire’s stance on expediting the Education Bill’s passage showcases a commitment to addressing crucial issues in the education sector. Khatri believes that empowering youth to actively contribute to the nation’s development will be instrumental in fostering a progressive society in Nepal.
