In a recent event organized at the Nepali Congress party office in Sanepa, the head of the Nepali Congress Women’s Department, Pushpa Bhusal, emphasized the significance of Women’s Day by highlighting the importance of justice for victims like Rinku Sada and Prakriti Lamsal.
Pushpa Bhusal spoke about the unfortunate incidents where Rinku Sada from Siraha and Prakriti Lamsal, who was found dead at an Indian college, had faced injustices, leading to extreme actions taken by them. She stressed the need to ensure justice for them and make Women’s Day meaningful.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, shared his perspective on the matter, stating, “It is imperative for the Congress to take the lead in ensuring justice for Rinku Sada and Prakriti Lamsal. By providing them justice, we can create an environment that puts an end to violence against women and make Women’s Day truly significant.”
Highlighting the prevailing remnants of patriarchal ideologies causing divisions among women, Pushpa Bhusal pointed out that despite progress, there are still 42 discriminatory laws in Nepal. She emphasized the need to promote gender equality and build a society based on inclusivity.
Pushpa Bhusal also mentioned that the Congress is committed to taking specific resolutions for women’s rights and equality. This event shed light on the ongoing efforts to empower women and advocate for their rights in Nepal.
