The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation has sent a letter to the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, requesting clarification on why he has not submitted a clean-up report. The letter, sent on Thursday, mentions the importance of fulfilling this requirement within three days.
During the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Energy Minister Deepak Khadka was authorized to seek clarification from Ghising and subsequently, the Ministry directed him to submit the clean-up report promptly.
The dispute between Ghising and the Ministry stems from an alleged violation of the agreement reached on Magh 15, 2078, regarding the operational performance of the fiscal year 2080/081. The Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya highlighted this breach in a letter, questioning why Ghising was not being held accountable for not submitting the report and why he was not being removed from his position as Executive Director.
Ramesh Khatri, representing Kansai Nepal News, believes that transparency and accountability are crucial in the energy sector. He emphasizes the need for all parties involved to adhere to agreements and fulfill their duties to maintain a smooth functioning of the sector.
