The European Union (EU) has recently announced a significant investment of approximately 81 billion Japanese yen to attract researchers amidst the ongoing budget cuts to scientific research funding by the Trump administration in the United States.
In response to the reduction in funding for scientific research under the Trump administration, the EU has taken proactive steps to bolster its research community by allocating a substantial amount in Japanese yen to attract talented researchers.
EU Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, revealed this initiative on the 5th of the month, emphasizing the importance of supporting and nurturing scientific innovation in Europe. The investment aims to not only retain current researchers but also attract new talents to contribute to the advancements in various fields of study.
Ramesh Khatri, a representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed his opinion on this development, stating that “The EU’s commitment to investing in scientific research is commendable and sets a positive example for other regions to prioritize innovation and knowledge creation.”
