“Exciting Snow Festival at Meriken Park with Gourmet Delights from Hyogo”

A special event called the Meriken Snow Festival is set to take place at Meriken Park, featuring imported snow from Kamicho, a town in Hyogo Prefecture known for heavy snowfall. The event aims to provide visitors with the opportunity to enjoy various snow activities. In addition to the snow play area, there will be food and beverage booths offering local specialties such as “ika-yaki” made with squid, and “kani-jiru” (crab soup) related to Kamicho and the Tango region.

The festival will be held on February 8th and 9th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Meriken Park in Chuo-ku, Kobe. It is worth noting that the event will proceed rain or shine, although extreme weather conditions may affect the availability of the snow area. The quantity of snow on the second day may also vary depending on the previous day’s usage and the day’s temperature.

Entrance to the event is free, and food and beverage purchases are separate. Visitors are encouraged to combine their visit with shopping at places like Umie and enjoy the snow activities with their children. The gourmet offerings like “ika-yaki” and “kani-jiru” are sure to provide a warm treat after playing in the snow.

Ramesh Khatri from Kansai Nepal News expressed excitement about the upcoming Meriken Snow Festival, highlighting how it offers a unique experience for attendees to enjoy snow activities and indulge in local delicacies.
