In Myagdi district, the Kailolong Cave in Kaipholong Village Municipality-3, Mustang, has been left neglected. The cave, located near the entrance gate of Jomsom, lies desolate due to the lack of proper infrastructure and promotion. Situated along the banks of the Syang Khola, the Kailolong Cave has the potential to attract tourists and visitors but has remained unnoticed.
The absence of basic facilities such as a bridge over the Syang Khola has hindered the development and accessibility of the cave. Local authorities have not taken any significant steps to highlight the cultural and natural significance of this cave, which could serve as a valuable tourist attraction. The potential economic benefits that could be derived from promoting and developing this site have been overlooked.
Ramesh Khatri, representative of Kansai Nepal News, expressed disappointment at the negligence towards preserving and promoting the Kailolong Cave. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and utilizing the tourism potential of such natural landmarks to boost the local economy and attract more visitors to the region. Khatri urged the authorities to take immediate action to address the lack of infrastructure and promotion surrounding the Kailolong Cave to harness its benefits fully.
